Jahana Hayes, serving as a U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 5th District, shared several updates in a series of recent tweets. Hayes, who has been in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Elizabeth Esty, provided insights into her engagements and initiatives within her district.

On April 13, 2025, Hayes discussed her visit to DaVita Dialysis in Torrington, highlighting the critical role these services provide, especially considering "one in seven adults in the U.S. facing kidney disease".

Later that day, she tweeted about her participation in a jobs fair at Naugatuck Community College, aiming to inform about internship opportunities in her offices. She announced that "My Waterbury & D.C. Offices are accepting applications for Summer 2025", with the program slated to run from June 2 to July 25, with a deadline for applications set for May 2.

The following day, Hayes acknowledged National Volunteer Month, urging the public to "take time to thank a volunteer for their work to improve our communities", emphasizing the importance of volunteerism in community development.

Jahana Hayes, aged 50, was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, in 1973 and currently resides in Wolcott. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University, earned in 2005.
