Jahana Hayes, currently serving as the U.S. Congress representative for Connecticut's 5th district, shared a series of tweets discussing significant legislative and community initiatives in which she is involved.
On March 26, 2025, she highlighted her collaborative efforts with the Connecticut Alzheimer's Association to bolster support for caregivers and research funding. Her tweet stated, "Great discussion with CT Alzheimer's Association. Together, we can work to ensure assistance for caregivers and research funding and prevention efforts are available, including a 24/7 helpline, support groups, and grants for research and respite services."
A day later, on March 27, 2025, Hayes addressed the ongoing issue of wage inequality. She expressed her endorsement for the Paycheck Fairness Act by writing, "It is 2025 and the wage gap still exists. I am a cosponsor of the #PaycheckFairnessAct because equal pay for equal work is a right, not a privilege."
On the same day, Hayes took to Twitter once more to voice her commitment to the safety and training of first responders within her district. She conveyed her actions by stating, "Our first responders should be able to rely on us as much as we rely on them. I signed a letter urging the administration to prioritize public safety and first responders by providing critical training to the firefighters at @CTCFPC and across #CT05."
