Jahana Hayes, a U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut's 5th district since 2019, has been vocal about issues impacting her state and constituents. Her recent social media activity highlights concerns regarding infrastructure funding and agricultural support.

On February 11, 2025, Hayes addressed infrastructure funding concerns after meeting with the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG). She stated, "Met with @CRCOG1 who have serious concerns about any funding freeze that would put CT infrastructure projects at risk. State & local municipalities are relying on the federal government to honor our commitment for projects that were already approved."

Later that day, Hayes turned her attention to agricultural matters. She expressed concerns over inconsistent disaster relief for farmers, noting the lack of guaranteed assistance. "Ad hoc assistance & disaster relief for farmers are never guaranteed creating gaps in the farm safety net," she tweeted.

Continuing on this topic, Hayes pointed out issues related to promised USDA funding for farmers. She remarked on the negative effects of funding freezes and confusion within the farming community. "Farmers are missing out on millions of dollars in @USDA funding that was promised to them despite assurances the funding freeze would not impact them," she noted.
