Jahana Hayes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 5th district, shared her recent legislative efforts and advocacy initiatives on social media. Hayes, who succeeded Elizabeth Esty in 2019, highlighted her commitment to supporting survivors of service members and veterans, as well as raising awareness for cardiovascular disease.

On February 7, 2025, Jahana Hayes posted about her speech on the House floor regarding the Caring for Survivors Act. She stated: "I spoke on the House floor on my bill, the Caring for Survivors Act. This bill increases the benefits paid to survivors of service members & veterans by an average of $454 per month. I will continue working to ensure surviving families receive the benefits their loved ones…" The bill aims to enhance financial support for these families.

Later that day, Hayes participated in Wear Red Day activities to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease. In her tweet at 20:47 UTC, she expressed solidarity with those affected by heart-related conditions: "On Wear Red Day, we recognize and stand with the millions of Americans affected by cardiovascular disease. #WearRed to show support for those affected, and let’s commit to eradicating this disease once and for all."
