Jahana Hayes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 5th district, shared a series of updates via her social media account on February 5, 2025. These updates addressed legislative efforts, communication protocols with her office, and educational insights.

On February 5, 2025, Jahana Hayes highlighted the anniversary of the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) by announcing new legislation aimed at modernizing the act. She stated that "32 years ago, the Family & Medical Leave Act enshrined protections for workers who are also caregivers." In another update on February 5, 2025, Hayes reminded constituents about how to contact her office. She emphasized that "The only way to get in touch with my office is to call or email directly." Social media comments or direct messages will not receive responses from her team.

Further elaborating on education-related matters on February 5, 2025, Hayes outlined key functions of the Department of Education. She stated that it "Protects civil rights of students," among other responsibilities such as developing educators and overseeing federal loan programs.
