On March 17, 2025, Hayes tweeted about participating in a St. Patrick's Day event with Senator Chris Murphy. "Kicked off St. Patrick’s Day with Senator @ChrisMurphyCT at his annual pancake breakfast. It was a great time connecting with the community in #Cheshire "

Later that day, Hayes celebrated Nicole Kendall's role as Waterbury's Irish Mayor for the Day. In another tweet posted on March 17, 2025, Hayes addressed food insecurity among veterans in the United States by announcing her intention to reintroduce legislation aimed at assisting them: "No veteran should ever go hungry in the United States yet nearly 1.4M veterans are food insecure. I am reintroducing the Feed Hungry Veterans Act to better connect veterans to SNAP - our most effective anti-hunger program."
