Jahana Hayes, a U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut’s 5th district, recently shared updates on various events she participated in via social media. Hayes, who succeeded Elizabeth Esty in 2019, has been actively involved in community engagements and initiatives within her district.

On January 24, 2025, Hayes announced that her office had joined the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs for the 2024 Veterans Hall of Fame induction ceremony. She noted that "14 were honored including 5 from #CT05" and expressed gratitude for their "dedication, hard work and continued service." "My office joined the CT Dept. of Veterans Affairs for the 2024 Veterans Hall of Fame induction ceremony."

The following day, January 25, 2025, Hayes shared her participation with the Waterbury Chamber of Commerce to celebrate M.I.A. Cafe and Lounge. She welcomed this new establishment as it offers traditional Mediterranean cuisine to the community. "We were happy to join the Waterbury Chamber of Commerce in celebrating M.I.A. Cafe and Lounge."

Later on January 25, Hayes attended an event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy at the Children’s March in Cheshire. She emphasized the significance of young voices in sustaining hope and quoted Dr. King's words: “A little child will lead them.” "Today, we honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Children’s March in Cheshire."
