On November 21, 2024, Hayes expressed her condolences regarding the passing of former Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell. In her tweet, she stated: "My statement on the passing of former Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell."

Later that day, Hayes congratulated Keudy Martinez on being elected as the 2025 Connecticut Kid Governor. She highlighted his focus areas: school safety, anti-bullying, and mental health awareness efforts. Her message read: "Congratulations 2025 CT Kid Governor Keudy Martinez, from H.S.
