Jahana Hayes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 5th district, has been actively engaging with her constituents and addressing social issues through her recent communications on social media. Hayes succeeded Elizabeth Esty in 2019 and has continued to represent her district while residing in Wolcott, Connecticut.

On November 19, 2024, Hayes shared an update regarding assistance provided to a constituent from Waterbury with a Social Security issue. She stated that they were able to successfully help the individual through the process. She also encouraged others needing assistance to reach out by calling 860-223-8412. "A constituent from Waterbury needed assistance with a Social Security issue and we were able to successfully help her through the process."

The following day, November 20, 2024, Hayes acknowledged Transgender Day of Remembrance by remembering victims and survivors of anti-transgender hate crimes. She emphasized the importance of fighting for a world where individuals can live as their authentic selves without fear of violence. "During Transgender Day of Remembrance, we remember victims and survivors of anti-transgender hate crimes and mourn those we’ve lost to violence."

Later that same day, Hayes extended birthday wishes to President Biden via social media. "Happy Birthday @POTUS!"
