Warren Broadband Update

Dear Residents,

I hope that all is well, and that 2023 is off to a good start for you and your families. The winter weather has been strange, for sure, but today’s sunshine on the rapidly melting snow indicates that warmer days aren’t too far away.

We presented the results of our town Broadband Study in August to many of you, and indicated that we would schedule a follow-up to that meeting when there was additional information to offer. Since then, you may have noticed service trucks and work crews busy stringing new fiber along the town roads, and the installation of a new Optimum/Altice cabinet on Route 45, by Keith Road.

We were recently approached by Frontier regarding their plans to bring internet fiber service to Warren in 2023. Please note that this is a wired fiber-optic infrastructure project, and has NO 5G component to it. We are continuing to discuss the particulars of this proposal with them.

We hope to schedule another gathering with you in the near future, during which we will update you on the costs/timelines/realities on bringing fiber to your home in Warren. We are very excited about the possibilities and opportunities that this technology and competition will bring to you. Thank you.

Greg LaCava
