Baton Rouge, LA (March 22, 2023) – The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) and Forum 225 today announced they are now accepting speaker proposals for the second annual YP Summit which will be held at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center on June 28 and 29, 2023. Speaker proposal submissions can be made at brac.org/ypsummit.
“After a sold-out event in our first year, BRAC and Forum 225 are excited to bring back the YP Summit and allow the young professionals in our community to drive the content they want to hear,” said Maggi Spurlock, BRAC’s director of talent development. “We hope by offering a call for speakers, we can diversify our speaker list and highlight voices that we might not have heard before, ultimately giving up-and-coming young leaders the opportunity to share their knowledge and networks with each other.”
The event will host two types of sessions: traditional concurrent sessions or facilitated dialogue sessions. A traditional concurrent session will consist of a 40-to-45-minute presentation followed by a 15-to-20-minute discussion period. A facilitated dialogue session will promote open dialogue around a significant issue or theme with the speaker facilitating and maintaining authentic conversation with the participants.
Proposed speaker topics should fall within one of the event’s four tracks: personal development, professional development, leadership development and community development. Session examples for each track can be found on the event page at brac.org/ypsummit .
Individuals interested in serving as a speaker are encouraged to complete the speaker proposal form at brac.org/ypsummit by Wednesday, April 19. Event registration and additional details will be shared in the coming months. Questions regarding the call for speaker proposals can be directed to BRAC’s Director of Talent Development Maggi Spurlock at maggi@brac.org.
The event is sponsored by Campus Federal and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana. Additional event sponsorships are currently available. Interested organizations can contact BRAC’s Director of Investor Development Michelle Mahaffey LeJeune at michelle.lejeune@brac.org for more information.
