On December 22, 2022, the Boucher Community Ice Rink opened for its first season at Waveny Park.  The rink, sponsored by NCRink Inc, a local nonprofit organization, was formed by local citizens to provide an outdoor recreational ice skating venue for a full range of community participation for all ages.

Located in the center of the park opposite Waveny House, it is open six days a week and is primarily focused on open skate time. Future programs are envisioned to include Park and Recreation youth programs, skating instruction, family and theme programs such as Dads and Daughters, Teen Nights, etc.

The rink includes a heated hospitality tent and a Zamboni-style ice resurfacer machine.  Future plans include a skate rental and skate sharpening shop.

The rink is open; daily passes as well as season passes and can be purchased at the hospitality tent.   For more information, including days and hours of operation and prices, please visit NC Rink.
