“Dreaming of Rain”, an exhibit of paintings by Theresa Bates
Theresa Bates has been a working artist for over thirty years. She has shown her art in many venues throughout Manhattan, Massachusetts, Westchester and Connecticut. Her work is owned by many collectors in the U.S. and in Europe.
Her mixed media art has been exhibited in the Katonah Museum NY and in the Cork Gallery at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, NY. Her recent solo shows were at the Studio Hill Gallery in Woodbury, CT and at the Good News Restaurant and Bar, also in Woodbury.
This series “Dreaming of Rain” was inspired by the artist’s observations of the gardens that surround her studio and by hikes on the trails of Roxbury. Bates’ abstract works use watery inks and thick acrylics to make the shapes dance, flow and drip.
Please note that due to the South Street Block Party, South Street will be closed to traffic between Weller’s Bridge and the Library until 3pm.
