Town of Kent: Job Opportunity: After-School Program Director

Town of Kent issued the following announcement on April 7.

The Town of Kent Park and Recreation Department is accepting  applications for the position of After-School Program Director to  coordinate and supervise the program for the remainder of the 2021-22  school year, following the Kent Center School calendar. The program  meets Monday through Friday from 3:00p to 5:30p at the Kent Center  School. The director is expected to be present on all days that the  program meets, starting at 2:45p and generally leaving by 5:45p.  This  position reports to the Director of Park & Recreation and is  responsible for following all ASP procedures and policies. 

The successful candidate will:

• Acquire CPR and first-aid training within a month of hire

• Supervise ASP counselor(s)

• Supervise and work with program children (ages kindergarten through sixth grade)

• Implement and supervise homework time, snack, games, sports, and arts and crafts activities, both indoors and outdoors

• Purchase snacks and supplies for the program as needed

• Keep track of attendance and submit paperwork weekly

Applicants  must be at least 18 years of age, have experience working with  children, act as a role model and be willing to work as part of a team.  Completed applications can be mailed, dropped-off or e-mailed to the Park and Recreation office parkandrec@townofkenct.org.  Candidates will be asked to participate in an interview with the Park and Recreation director and commission member(s).
