Waterbury Regional Chamber: Main Street Waterbury

Waterbury Regional Chamber issued the following announcement on March 30.

Main Street Waterbury has announced a new managerial arrangement with the Waterbury Regional Chamber under which leadership at the Chamber will take on the responsibility of day-to-day operations for the downtown advocacy organization.Under the arrangement, the Waterbury Regional Chamber will provide leadership, management, administrative, and financial service support for Main Street Waterbury, which is a 501c3 non-profit. Main Street Waterbury will continue to maintain its office space at 83 Bank Street—in space shared by the Waterbury Regional Chamber and the Arts & Culture Collaborative.Susan Sprano, President of the Main Street Waterbury Board of Directors is enthusiastic about the potential for this new structure: “With the support of the City of Waterbury and the Waterbury Regional Chamber, Main Street Waterbury will be in the position to become a driving force for creating exceptional experiences for all those who work, visit, and play in Downtown Waterbury. We have increased our ability to promote Downtown businesses, and engage our volunteers, employees and visitors into the downtown area, expanding our community to be increasingly more expansive.”Signature events, such as Brass City Brew & ‘Que, Community Partnership Award, and the Stephen R. Sasala Scholarship, will continue under the new arrangement. Sponsorship of the annual Brass City Jazz Festival is one of the newer initiatives for the partnership already in development.“The Waterbury Regional Chamber has been serving the local business community since 1889. Our mission aligns Main Street Waterbury’s commitment to supporting the economy in our downtown business district,” said Lynn Ward, President and CEO of the Waterbury Regional Chamber.
