Cost of college went up for all students at the University of Connecticut-Waterbury Campus

In-state tuition and fees rose 6.6 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Connecticut-Waterbury Campus, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Connecticut residents paid $13,688 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $850 more than the $12,838 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 163.4 percent more than residents this year, or $36,056. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 3.3 percent from $34,906 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Connecticut residents.

Data shows 81 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 206 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.2 million and 134 students took out student loans totaling more than $678,343.

Including all undergraduates (865), 555 students used grants or scholarships totaling $5.3 million, and 403 students took out $2.3 million in federal student loans.
