Waterbury – The Board of Parks/Recreation will be holding a public input meeting on June 20th 2023 at 6pm in Veterans Memorial Hall for naming the new park located at 313 Mill St. The authority for naming all Parks/Recreation areas owned, operated, controlled, or governed by the City of Waterbury rests with its Board of Alderman, and Board of Parks/Recreation.

 All those wishing to speak will have a 5 minute time limit and may speak on the naming of the park on 313 Mill St based on the outline below.

To be eligible for election a candidate MUST BE:

  1. Names may denote a deceased person(s) prominent at the national or state level. Nominations will not be considered until three years after the death of the individual.
  2. An Individual who has contributed significantly to the City of Waterbury Parks/Recreation system through longevity of service, exemplary leadership, philanthropic contribution, connection to the Parks/Recreation, or other actions that benefitted the local community.
  3. Names will denote the geographical area in which the building, park or fields are located.
