Later that day, Hayes celebrated Nicole Kendall’s role as Waterbury’s Irish Mayor for the Day. In another tweet posted on March 17, 2025, Hayes addressed food insecurity among veterans in the United States by announcing her intention to reintroduce legislation aimed at assisting them: “No veteran should ever go hungry in the United States yet nearly 1.4M veterans are food insecure. I am reintroducing the Feed Hungry Veterans Act to better connect veterans to SNAP – our most effective anti-hunger program.”
