Jahana Hayes, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 5th district since 2019, recently shared updates about her activities and community engagement on social media.
On April 11, 2026, Hayes highlighted a visit to the YMCA Meriden Head Start program. She stated, “What a great morning at the YMCA Meriden Head Start program. This organization will be expanding available child care slots with a new federal grant from HHS. Effective, comprehensive early childhood education is a crucial investment in our economy and should be available to all”.
Later that day, she recounted an interaction with a constituent from Middlebury: “A constituent from #Middlebury wanted to leave a message for me, but instead I was able move a mtg and speak with him. I appreciate hearing directly from CT05 constituents and was happy this timing worked out.”
On April 12, Hayes commented on the seasonal cherry blossoms at the U.S. Capitol: “Peak bloom for this springtime tradition and symbol of friendship. The beauty of the cherry blossoms at the U.S. Capitol cannot be contained. Since 1912, we have celebrated these cherry trees blooming in solidarity.
