Jahana Hayes, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 5th district since 2019, posted a series of messages on her official Twitter account between April 5 and April 7, 2026.

On April 5, Hayes extended holiday greetings to her followers: “Wishing a blessed & joyous Easter to all https://t.co/PrfPVecnGs”.

Later that day, she informed constituents about an upcoming outreach event designed to assist with federal agency issues: “Need assistance with a federal agency? ‌

On April 7, Hayes addressed national security concerns in a post referencing the President of the United States: “The President of the United States is threatening war crimes. Congress cannot dismiss this as rhetoric or remain passive while the President signals the destruction of an entire civilization- he has the nuclear codes.
Republican leadership must bring Congress back to Washington,”

Hayes was born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1973 and currently resides in Wolcott. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a BA in 2005. Hayes succeeded Elizabeth Esty as representative for Connecticut’s 5th district in Congress beginning in 2019.
