Jahana Hayes, a U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut’s 5th district, has recently shared her positions and initiatives on social media. Through a series of tweets, Hayes expressed her stance on various issues affecting both her constituents and the wider American public.

On March 21, 2025, Hayes highlighted her participation with fellow lawmakers in supporting Social Security beneficiaries. She stated that she “joined @RepJohnLarson & 152 @HouseDemocrats in standing up for the 70 million Americans who rely on Social Security & urging the Acting Commissioner to stop any efforts to gut the program.”

The following day, March 22, 2025, Hayes addressed concerns about funding cuts affecting local food systems and schools. She noted that “Connecticut was promised nearly $2 million to provide healthy meals to our children and strengthen our food supply chain. Eliminating $1 billion in state LFS & LFPA funding will hurt local farmers and force schools to serve unhealthy meals to our students.”

Later on March 22, 2025, Hayes announced her involvement with a political coalition aimed at fostering collaborative policymaking. She expressed enthusiasm as she “joined the @NewDemCoalition,” noting that “many New Dem members have districts similar to my own” and emphasizing “the need for collaboration is vitally important to advance solution driven policies that help our communities.”
