Jahana Hayes, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 5th district, has shared updates on constituent services and community outreach through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On January 5, 2026, Hayes announced the successful resolution of Social Security cases for local residents: “Our team has closed 19 cases under the Social Security Fairness Act, returning more than $401K in retroactive payments to constituents across 11 towns, including Frances from Plainville. If you need assistance, call us at 860-223-8412 https://t.co/jtgZyb96M1”.
The following day, January 6, she extended greetings for a cultural celebration: “¡Feliz Día de Reyes Magos! May this special day bring you abundant joy and blessings https://t.co/RCcd4IoYhH”.

Hayes has represented Connecticut’s 5th District in Congress since replacing Elizabeth Esty in 2019. She was born in Waterbury in 1973 and currently resides in Wolcott. Hayes earned her BA from Southern Connecticut State University in 2005.
