Jahana Hayes, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 5th district since 2019, provided updates on her recent congressional activities and constituent services through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) in August 2025.
On August 16, Hayes encouraged constituents to stay informed about her work by subscribing to her newsletter. She wrote, ” From your inbox to your feed  I’m bringing you the Weekly Wrap, a recap of my week in Congress and highlights of my work. ‌ Subscribe today to receive my full newsletter and stay informed on how my work impacts you https://t.co/6jHqoW9cPP https://t.co/qWvnfOXrq2″.
Two days later, on August 18, Hayes announced assistance for residents needing help with federal agencies. In her post she stated, “Need help with a federal agency? Our Case Work On Your Corner team is here to help. We will see you TODAY at Danbury City Hall from 11 AM to 4 PM.”
Later that day, she reflected on recent meetings covering various policy areas: “From public health and education to agriculture and renewable energy, we continued with a series of productive meetings this week. Grateful to all who shared their priorities and valuable insights.”
Hayes has represented Connecticut’s 5th District in the U.S. House since replacing Elizabeth Esty in 2019. Born in Waterbury in 1973 and currently residing in Wolcott, she graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005.
