On November 27, 2024, Hayes announced that “The Towns of Bethel & New Milford are each being awarded $160,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation for a Safe Streets For All action plan.” She explained that this program supports efforts to prevent death and serious injury on roads involving all roadway users.

Later the same day, Hayes reported attending a significant event in Waterbury. She wrote: “ICYMI: I attended the ribbon-cutting for McCall Behavioral Health Network’s first primary care office & expansion of adolescent services in #Waterbury.” According to Hayes, this new facility will improve mental health services for many families in the area.
