Jahana Hayes, a U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut’s 5th District, has recently shared her thoughts on government reform and other pressing issues through a series of tweets. Her communications provide insights into her political activities and concerns.

On February 9, 2025, Hayes expressed her interest in governmental reform with an enthusiastic statement: “We need to find ways to make gov’t reform…..Found one!” This tweet indicates her proactive stance towards finding solutions for improving government operations.

Later that day, at 14:01 UTC, Hayes announced her upcoming appearance on MSNBC with Alex Witt. She intended to discuss the potential threats of shutting down the U.S. Department of Education and its impact on public school students. She emphasized the severe consequences this could have for the 49 million students enrolled in public schools: “Today at 1:30 pm, I will be on MSNBC with Alex Witt to talk about threats to shut down the @usedgov and the devastating impact it would have on the 49 million public students who attend public school.”

In another post made at 19:55 UTC on the same day, Hayes addressed misinformation concerning a circulating post that was identified as fake by The White House. Expressing relief over this clarification, she highlighted the potential dangers posed by allergic reactions in children: “The White House promptly responded that the post being circulated was a fake. This is as relief to me, because as I stated the reaction to nuts by a child with an allergy can range from mild to severe, and in severe cases can be life-threatening.”
