Jahana Hayes, a U.S. Congress member representing Connecticut’s 5th district, shared updates on her recent activities through social media posts. Hayes, who has been serving since 2019 after replacing Elizabeth Esty, is actively engaging with her constituents and addressing various issues.
On May 16, 2025, Jahana Hayes announced the return of “Casework On Your Corner” at Danbury City Hall scheduled for Monday, May 19th at 11:00 AM. She emphasized that no appointment is necessary for this event aimed at assisting residents of #CT05. “My office is always here to help #CT05.”
Later that day, Hayes expressed her support for an amicus brief condemning the illegal dismissal of staff members at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). She highlighted the CFPB’s role in consumer protection and noted its success in returning over $21 billion through supervisory and enforcement efforts. “I joined an amicus brief condemning the illegal firing of staff at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.”
In another post on May 16, Hayes congratulated winners of the 2025 Art Competition. The winning artworks include “Self Image” by Lola from Oakville, which will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol; “Reflections” by Autumn from Woodbury to be shown in Washington D.C.; and “Colorful Hands and Faces” by Isla from Bethlehem. “Please join me in congratulating our 2025 Art Competition Winners.”
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1973 and currently residing in Wolcott, Jahana Hayes graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a BA in 2005.
