On May 14, 2025, Jahana Hayes expressed concerns about potential Republican-led cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). She emphasized that “Republicans must understand whether you have a 7-year-old or not, basic human dignity should compel us to ask: What will happen to these children if Republicans cut SNAP?” Hayes further asserted that if answers cannot be discussed regarding this proposal, it should not even be considered.
The following day, on May 15, 2025, Hayes shared highlights from her week in another tweet. She listed several significant events including “National Teacher Appreciation Week,” “Protecting SNAP,” “Stop Child Hunger Act,” and an “Education & Workforce Hearing.”

Jahana Hayes was born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1973 and currently resides in Wolcott. She graduated with a BA from Southern Connecticut State University in 2005.
