Jahana Hayes, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 5th district since 2019, shared updates on her official Twitter account on April 1, 2026, covering topics from immigration enforcement to space exploration and constituent outreach.
In a post made at 14:01 UTC, Hayes wrote: “Faith leaders came to my office to stress concern over actions taken by ICE and the need to protect sensitive locations. Human rights and basic constitutional principles must be upheld while enforcing immigration laws and protecting national security.”
Later that day, at 17:59 UTC, she encouraged community engagement through her newsletter: “Are you signed up for The Weekly Wrap? Subscribe today to receive my newsletter every week, and stay informed on how my work impacts you, your family, and our communities.”
At 19:55 UTC, Hayes extended support to NASA’s Artemis II crew ahead of their mission: “Sending best wishes to the amazing Artemis II crew as they prepare to embark on a mission to the moon. This is the first crewed mission of the Artemis program, on a journey around the Moon and back to Earth for the first time in over 50 yrs. We will be praying for their success”.
Hayes has served as Connecticut’s representative in Congress since replacing Elizabeth Esty in 2019. Born in Waterbury in 1973 and currently residing in Wolcott, she earned her BA from Southern Connecticut State University in 2005.
