Jahana Hayes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 5th district since 2019, posted a series of updates on her social media account in mid-November 2025 addressing congressional developments and constituent services.
On November 12, Hayes welcomed a new colleague to the House of Representatives, stating, “I join my colleagues in welcoming Rep Adelita Grijlava as a Member of the House of Representatives. The people of AZ07 deserve a voice in Congress. I look forward to working together on behalf of the American people. Now let’s let karma cook.”
Later that day, she commented on legislative matters with a post reading, “I voted NO on the continuing resolution. My full statement: https://t.co/5SFDSgKJB3 https://t.co/jAP2E0QxuV” (November 13).
Addressing her constituents’ needs, Hayes announced an upcoming outreach event: “Need assistance with a federal agency? Our Case Work On Your Corner team will be in Danbury Monday, November 17 11:00AM – 4:00PM Danbury City Hall, First Floor, 155 Deer Hill Avenue No appointment necessary.” (November 14).
Hayes has represented Connecticut’s 5th District since replacing Elizabeth Esty in 2019 and is known for her active engagement with local issues and national policy debates. Born in Waterbury in 1973 and currently residing in Wolcott, Hayes holds a BA from Southern Connecticut State University.
