On May 10, 2025, Hayes emphasized the importance of eliminating hate and violence from communities within her district. She expressed gratitude towards the Waterbury Human Rights Commission for facilitating a discussion aimed at achieving crime-free environments. In her tweet, she stated: “Hate and violence have no place in #CT05. Thank you #Waterbury Human Rights Commission for holding an important discussion about the progress made and ways to work towards crime-free communities.”
The following day, May 11, 2025, Hayes extended a warm greeting on Mother’s Day with a simple yet heartfelt message: “Happy Mother’s Day “.
On May 12, 2025, Hayes announced the return of “Casework On Your Corner,” an initiative designed to provide assistance to residents of Connecticut’s 5th district without requiring appointments. This event was scheduled to take place at Eno Memorial Hall on Wednesday, May 14th. She assured constituents that her office remains available to support them by stating: “My office is always here to help #CT05. Casework On Your Corner is back at Eno Memorial Hall WEDNESDAY, May 14th, starting at 11:00 AM. No appointment necessary.”
Jahana Hayes was born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1973 and resides in Wolcott. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005.
