Jahana Hayes, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 5th district since 2019, has recently posted a series of updates on her official Twitter account addressing constituent services, health care costs, and transparency in government.
On November 17, 2025, Hayes announced the availability of her casework team at Danbury City Hall: “Need help with a federal agency? Our Case Work On Your Corner team will see you TODAY at Danbury City Hall from 11 AM to 4 PM.” The message highlighted ongoing efforts to provide direct assistance to residents facing issues with federal agencies.
Later that same day, Hayes addressed concerns about the potential expiration of Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits and its impact on Connecticut residents. She wrote: “When ACA tax credits expire, CT residents will see health care costs double, triple, or even quadruple – all because Republicans refused to negotiate. The entire CT delegation remains committed to delivering the quality, affordable care our constituents deserve.” Her statement emphasized the importance of these tax credits for maintaining affordable health care in the state.
On November 18, 2025, Hayes commented on congressional action related to public access to information: “The vote to release the Epstein files was an easy yes for me.”
Hayes has represented Connecticut’s 5th District since succeeding Elizabeth Esty in 2019. Born in Waterbury in 1973 and currently residing in Wolcott, she holds a BA from Southern Connecticut State University (FACTS 1-4). Her recent posts reflect both her legislative priorities and ongoing outreach efforts within her district.
