In-state tuition and fees rose 2.5 percent for 2018-19 at Naugatuck Valley Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Connecticut residents paid $4,424 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $108 more than the $4,316 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 198.2 percent more than residents this year, or $13,192. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 2.5 percent from $12,868 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school’s undergraduate population are Connecticut residents.

Data shows 71 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 570 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.1 million and 16 students took out student loans totaling more than $67,041.

Including all undergraduates (6,237), 4,986 students used grants or scholarships totaling $22.3 million, and 227 students took out $824,808 in federal student loans.
