Jahana Hayes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 5th district since 2019, recently shared several updates on social media regarding her upcoming activities and opinions on current political events.

On March 3, 2025, Hayes invited constituents to participate in a town hall meeting at Avon High School scheduled for Sunday, March 9th. The event is intended to provide a “Budget Breakdown” where attendees can learn more about the proposed federal budget and its impact on Connecticut’s 5th district. “Join me for a Town Hall at Avon High School on Sunday March 9th, for a Budget Breakdown. Learn more about the proposed federal budget and the impact on #CT05.”

In another post dated March 5, 2025, Hayes expressed her disappointment with a recent speech she characterized as lacking substance regarding efforts to lower costs or assist Americans. She remarked that it was filled with rhetoric but offered little in terms of practical solutions. “Tonight’s speech was a campaign rally filled with rhetoric but nothing about lowering costs or helping the American people. I’m disappointed but not surprised.”

Later that day, Hayes announced her participation in an interview with Brian Shactman on WTIC 1080AM radio station at 8:20 am. She encouraged followers to tune in for their discussion. “Good Morning I am joining @bshactman live on WTIC 1080AM at 8:20am. Tune in!”
