On December 2, 2024, Hayes announced that “The @usedgov 2025-2026 FAFSA form is now available.” She encouraged individuals to complete the form to apply for financial aid for college or career school attendance between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.

Later that day, she reported on local business grants stating “Two CT-05 businesses have been awarded a total of $300,000 through the latest round of REAP grants to expand clean energy use and lower energy costs.” Hayes emphasized the importance of such programs in combating the climate crisis and supporting small farms and rural businesses in Connecticut.
